Due to the COVID-19 situation, many services are now available remotely.
Arizona Western College provides an interdisciplinary team consisting of career specialist and academic advisors to assist students in their academic and career development. Guiding students into, through, and beyond their college experience.
Teaching students how to...
- Discover their career/academic/personal interests
- Explore their career/academic options
- Create their individual college experiences
- Prepare for their future career
Students can meet with academic advisors throughout the year and are encouraged to make appointments each semester to discuss their academic and career plans. Students are also encouraged to take advantage of all of the career and advisement services by working with the advisors in helping with decisions regarding a selection of major/career, develop an (EAP) educational academic plan for their major, and discuss career and/or transfer plans.
The advisors help students by:
- Aiding students on educational and career goals
- Mapping out required courses and requirements
The AWC academic advisors are found in the ‘One Stop Shop’ area located in the College Community Center (3C) on main campus. Continuing & Returning students may set up an appointment with an advisor. All new students need to attend an orientation sessions where advisors will assist students with the enrollment and advising process.
The AWC Academic Advisors guide students into, through and beyond their college experience.
A Student Experience
Dubia Zaragoza always taught me something when I went in for advising. Whether it was related to my personal life or academic goal, she always knew what to say to make me feel confident. Now that I am at the UA, I make myself my own competition because Dubia always told me to work hard and focus on myself and before I know it, I will reach my goals.
