What is Discover/Experience AWC?
Discover/Experience AWC - Orientation to Advisement and Registration is designed for all incoming students to provide them with the necessary information, resources and advising assistance to help them have a successful start and experience at AWC. Participants will learn about AWC degrees and certificates, importance of assessment/placement test scores, tips on how to choose classes, ideas on how to build a semester schedule, how to register for classes using Student Planning, an introduction to other digital services like Blackboard & TORO Webmail, and other important topics necessary for a successful transition into college.
Experience AWC is our half-day Saturday event scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at the AWC Yuma Campus. Registration for Experience AWC is now open, click here to register now.
Discover AWC is our weekly event for all NEW students planning to register for Fall or Spring semesters and want comprehensive assistance in getting started on their first step into college. Sessions are available at the Yuma Campus, San Luis Campus, and Somerton Campus.
ALL new students are encouraged to attend either of these comprehensive events.

Who should attend Discover/Experience AWC?
Discover/Experience AWC is designed for all new part-time or full-time student attending any AWC site.
Is there a cost for attending Discover/Experience AWC?
No, Discover/Experience AWC is free!
What do I need to do to prepare for Discover/Experience AWC?
Students should: (1) complete assessment/placement through AWC Testing Services; (2) set-up their AWC NetID Account (for access to Self-Service/Blackboard/TORO Webmail); (3) plan to make arrangements for tuition payment and/or apply for financial aid.
Does it matter what session I attend?
The earlier is usually better. As more students register, the more classes fill up and the fewer class selections are available.
