Arizona Western Clubs and Organizations represent a wide variety of student aptitudes and interests. The activities, events, and programs sponsored by the clubs and organizations complement the AWC academic programs by providing opportunities for recreation, fellowship, and practical training for intelligent leadership and superlative citizenship.

Clubs are initiated by student interest and therefore change frequently. A club is formed when a student voices the need or want for a particular club to the Coordinator of Student Leadership and Activities. An AWC club advisor is then sought. After club paperwork is submitted to the office of Student Activities the club can begin activity immediately.

  • Arizona Western Business Group

    • Purpose: Fosters leadership development through educational, business, and community projects.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all currently enrolled AWC students with an interest in business or related fields (primarily serves AAS Business and ABUS Transfer students). Active membership requires participation in at least one meeting or activity each semester.
    • Meeting Location: BA 202
    • Meeting Schedule: Every third Thursday of the month, 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

  • AWC Art Association

    • Purpose: Brings student artists together to share, critique, sell, and create artwork, while connecting with local vendors and businesses at community sales and events.
    • Membership Requirements: Any AWC student with an interest in visual arts of any media.
    • Meeting Location: AB building, Room 105
    • Meeting Schedule: Every Wednesday, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • AWC Natural Resources Club

    • Purpose: Connects students to learn about the interconnected systems of agriculture, water, wildlife, ecosystems, policy, and natural resources through tours, guest presentations, and community projects.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all students.
    • Meeting Location: AS 106
    • Meeting Schedule: Every Wednesday, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • AWC Psychology Club

    • Purpose: Expands students' knowledge of psychology beyond the classroom through speaker forums, topical discussions, research poster sessions, and community service.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to students of all majors with a minimum 2.0 GPA in good conduct standing, as well as faculty, staff, and invited honorary members.
    • Meeting Location: AC 110
    • Meeting Schedule: Every other Thursday at 3:00 PM

  • AWC Raza Advocates

    • Purpose: Engages students in civic engagement, social justice, and environmental justice advocacy within the campus and local communities.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all students; welcoming new members each semester.
    • Meeting Location: San Luis Library, AWC San Luis Learning Center, or AWC Main Campus
    • Meeting Schedule: Fridays, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Club SOTE

    • Purpose: "Seeking Opportunities Through Education" — a student-led KEYS Program organization focused on building leadership, teamwork, and service experience.
    • Membership Requirements: Must be enrolled at AWC, a KEYS Program participant, and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
    • Meeting Location: Pending

  • Desert Chefs Culinary Club

    • Purpose: Expands knowledge of the culinary and hospitality industry while building team collaboration and practical kitchen skills.
    • Membership Requirements: Enrolled or previously enrolled in the AWC Culinary Arts program and in possession of a valid Food Handler's Card.
    • Meeting Location: TBA

  • Global Dance Club

    • Purpose: Learn and practice global dances in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all students; no dance experience needed.
    • Meeting Location: In front of Starbucks (between 3C building)
    • Meeting Schedule: Every other Monday, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • GSA Full Spectrum

    • Purpose: Promotes LGBTQIA+ history, education, and diversity awareness to foster an equitable, supportive, and inclusive campus environment.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all currently enrolled AWC students.

    • Meeting Schedule: Every other Wednesday at 4:00 PM

  • L.E.A.D Club

    • Purpose: Supports and empowers AWC students in La Paz County by promoting leadership, self-advocacy, personal growth, and community engagement.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all currently enrolled AWC students at the AWC La Paz campuses without discrimination.
    • Meeting Location: AWC La Paz Student Lounge
    • Meeting Schedule: Bi-weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 PM (beginning September 2)

  • Leading with Kindness

    • Purpose: Inspires students to lead with compassion, serve with purpose, and create positive change on campus and throughout the surrounding community.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all students.
    • Meeting Location: Library Study Room
    • Meeting Schedule: Tuesdays (and alternating Fridays via Zoom), 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

  • Matador Ambassador

    • Purpose: Serves as the official student face and voice of AWC, providing authentic peer connections and support to welcome and guide students.
    • Membership Requirements: Requires an application during the spring recruitment period; must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA (12+ credits for scholarship recipients) and attend August training.
    • Meeting Location: 3C Building, Admissions Office
    • Meeting Schedule: Thursdays at 11:00 AM

  • OADN Alpha Delta Nu - Iota Theta Chapter Nursing Honor Society

    • Purpose: Recognizes academic excellence among Associate Degree Nursing students and encourages lifelong continuing professional education.
    • Membership Requirements: Must be an enrolled nursing student. Provisional membership invited after one completed course; full membership granted in the final semester with grades of 'B' or higher in all coursework.
    • Meeting Location: ES 112
    • Meeting Schedule: 1st Monday of each month, 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM

  • Phi Theta Kappa Sigma Beta Chapter

    • Purpose: International Honor Society recognizing student academic achievement and providing opportunities for leadership and service.
    • Membership Requirements: Currently enrolled AWC student with at least 12 completed credits (6 for certificate programs) and a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater.
    • Meeting Location: MAC 137
    • Meeting Schedule: Every other Friday at 10:00 AM

  • Rotaract of AWC

    • Purpose: Supports cultural exchange, international education, civic service, and global understanding.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all AWC students with a minimum 2.00 GPA in good conduct standing.
    • Meeting Location: AWC Yuma Library
    • Meeting Schedule: Fridays at 11:30 AM

  • Student Health Advocates

    • Purpose: A student-led organization promoting holistic health and wellness on campus through peer workshops, advocacy, and outreach events.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all enrolled AWC students, partner university students (ASU, NAU, UofA in Yuma), and staff members. Active members are encouraged to attend at least two meetings per month.
    • Meeting Location: MAC building, Conference Room 203 (Zoom attendance option available)
    • Meeting Schedule: Every Wednesday at 4:00 PM

  • Student Nurses Association

    • Purpose: Fosters networking, community involvement, health awareness, and peer support for nursing and pre-nursing students.
    • Membership Requirements: Active membership: enrolled in state-approved RN/ADN licensure programs. Associate membership: pre-nursing prerequisite students.
    • Meeting Location: LR 250 or ES 112
    • Meeting Schedule: One Monday and Tuesday a month, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • The Creative Writing Club

    • Purpose: Provides a creative space to explore diverse genres of writing, conduct peer review workshops, prepare work for publication, and produce an annual student anthology.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all currently enrolled AWC students.
    • Meeting Location: San Luis Learning Center (SLLC), Room 104
    • Meeting Schedule: Every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

  • Theatre Club

    • Purpose: Supports student-led theatrical productions, stage works, and creative performance arts at AWC.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all who love the art form of Theatre.

  • Yuma Christian Revival Club

    • Purpose: Offers a welcoming, supportive fellowship community where students study Christian principles, grow in faith, and engage in campus service.
    • Membership Requirements: Open to all currently enrolled AWC students.
