The psychology program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. This curriculum combines required general education courses with a specialized sequence of psychology majors courses.

Program Purpose


To provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the core concepts, theories, and scientific methods of psychology. It is specifically designed to prepare students for successful transfer to a four-year university to complete a baccalaureate degree in psychology or a related social science field.

Learning Outcomes


  • Demonstrate an understanding of the basic concepts and principles of psychology
  • Demonstrate an understanding of various mental health disorders
  • Demonstrate an understanding about the relationship between individuals and groups
  • Demonstrate an understanding of social science research methodology
