Dhawan speaks about college’s entrepreneurship model
Yuma, AZ (March 29, 2018) – Arizona Western College Dean of Career and Technical Education Reetika Dhawan was recently afforded the opportunity to attend a conference of her choosing as part of the award package for winning AWC 2017 Teacher of the Year.

The AWC Music Faculty and Friends: Chamber Music in the Foothills performance will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, at Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church, 11273 E. 40th St.
The concert will include a vocal ensemble, the AWC String Ensemble, the Yuma Brass Quintet, and the Sonoran Chamber Players. Works performed will feature vocal soloists, oboe, horn, cello, piano, and tuba.

While flipping through an Arizona Western College course catalog brought home by his wife, he decided to enroll in some classes and pursue a career doing something he enjoyed – welding.
Now, 15 years later, he’s made his way back to AWC as a first-year Professor of Welding.

Yuma, AZ (March 22, 2018) – The 11th Annual Arizona Western College Sustainability Fair will be held on Thursday, April 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the LR Fountain Area of the Yuma Campus.
The community is invited to stop by and learn various ways to reduce their carbon footprint and promote a sustainable environment for future generations.
The event will feature informative and interactive booths and demonstrations as well as music, food vendors, and a sustainable lunch available for purchase for $8.

During the forum, agriculture majors from AWC and University of Arizona Yuma will have a chance to talk with members of the local agricultural community about job preparation and career options.

Yuma, AZ (March 14, 2018) – Arizona Western College Transfer Services, the AWC Alumni Association, and the AWC KEYS program will be hosting a University Transfer Signing Day to celebrate students who are continuing their education beyond AWC to Arizona state universities.
The event will be held on Thursday, April 26, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the LR Breezeway on the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.
AWC Music Department presents Celtic concert
Yuma, AZ (March 8, 2018) – The Arizona Western College String Ensemble, Chamber Choir and Youth Choir will be performing an Evening of Celtic Music on Sunday, March 18.
The concert will begin at 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Ave.
The community is invited to attend this free event. Free will donations will be accepted to benefit AWC Music Department student scholarships.
