AWC Parker holds Creative Coffee House Open Mic and Artists’ Showcase

April 26, 2018

Parker, AZ (April 26, 2018) – Creative writing students from Arizona Western College’s Parker and Quartzite Learning Centers will be hosting a Creative Coffee House Open Mic and Artists’ Showcase on Wednesday, May 2. The event is co-sponsored by the Future Leaders of La Paz student organization and will begin at 6 p.m. at the AWC Parker Community Center.

Students and artists from the community will have an opportunity to share 3-5-minute presentations of their work with those in attendance. The public is invited to attend and encourage artists to pursue their craft in a relaxed performance space.

Writers, musicians, dancers, and comics are welcome to perform. Individuals interested in performing should stop by the Parker Learning Center to sign up as slots are limited to only 25 acts.

Any performance suitable for a café-sized stage is acceptable, but participants are asked to refrain from inappropriate references regarding violence, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. The faculty and staff of AWC will have the final say on when such content has no artistic merit.
