Parker Open Mic to feature special guest author Arturo Magaña
April 1, 2024Parker, AZ (April 2, 2024) – Students from Arizona Western College, in conjunction with the college’s Creative Writing School, will host the seventh annual Parker Open Mic from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at the Parker Learning Center, 1109 Geronimo Ave.
The event will feature special guest Arturo Magaña, author of Nostalgias of November.

March 12, 2024Yuma, AZ (March 12, 2024) – Creative Writing students, with the support of the Liberal Arts Division of Arizona Western College, will host the second annual campus-wide Open Mic from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, March 27, at the AWC Yuma Campus Academic Library. This event is the celebratory closing ceremony for the annual Student Showcase.

Yuma, AZ (March 22, 2021) – For the past three years, Vanessa Ramirez has been diligently working to improve as both a flutist and a singer.
Ramirez has participated as a student in the Arizona Western College Community Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band and also takes private voice lessons and sings second soprano and alto with the AWC Chamber Singers and Yuma Chorale.
AWC Parker holds Creative Coffee House Open Mic and Artists’ Showcase
April 26, 2018Parker, AZ (April 26, 2018) – Creative writing students from Arizona Western College’s Parker and Quartzite Learning Centers will be hosting a Creative Coffee House Open Mic and Artists’ Showcase on Wednesday, May 2. The event is co-sponsored by the Future Leaders of La Paz student organization and will begin at 6 p.m. at the AWC Parker Community Center.
