AWC Awarded $5.9M Over the Next Five Years


Project Will Help Students Attain STEM Degrees in Informatics

Arizona’s Senator McCain and Congressman Gosar’s offices contacted Arizona Western College on September 27, 2016 to notify that the Informatics-STEMing Into New Careers for Today and Tomorrow (INSTINCT2) proposal had been funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, Hispanic Serving Institutions Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (HIS-STEM) and Articulation Program.

AWCTheatre Presents “The Laramie Project”


AWCTheatre presents “The Laramie Project” by Moises Kaufman and directed by Ann Wilkinson. The play opens on Thursday, October 20th at 7:30 pm. Additional performances are on October 21, 22 and 27-30. Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and the Sunday matinee is at 2:30 pm.  The performances will be held in the AWC Theatre on the Yuma Campus. 

AWC Talent Search Hosts First Steps to College for 7th Graders


Talent Search will be hosting First Steps to College for 7th graders on Tuesday, October 18th from 9am to 1pm on the Yuma Campus at Arizona Western College in South Schoening and the East Meeting Room.

First Steps to College is a Talent Search activity for 7th graders to come to the AWC Yuma Campus for the day.  Students that will be participating are from 4th Ave Jr High, Gila Vista Jr High, Wellton Elementary, and LePera Elementary and Wallace Jr High in Parker, AZ.

Calling all AWC Alumni for Celebration Breakfast


2016 AWC Hall of Fame Inductees Olivia Zepeda and C. Candy Camarena to be honored

Arizona Western College is inviting alumni to help kick off Homecoming week at the AWC Alumni Breakfast and Hall of Fame Celebration on Thursday, October 20, in the Schoening Conference Center from 8:00-9:00am. AWC’s 2016 Hall of Fame Inductees, Mrs. Olivia Zepeda and Mr. C. Candy Camarena, will be honored at the breakfast, as well as at the  Homecoming game on Saturday, October 29th.
