AWC to celebrate La Paz County graduates
April 28, 2022Parker, AZ (April 28, 2022) – Arizona Western College will be celebrating the achievements of La Paz County degree and certificate recipients on Thursday, May 5.
Graduates will be honored with a certificate of recognition for their accomplishments during the La Paz County Celebration of Leaders in Education event. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the Parker Community Center, 1109 Geronimo Ave.

Nominations sought for AWC Hall of Fame
January 23, 2020Yuma, AZ (January 23, 2020) – Arizona Western College is seeking nominations for the 2020 AWC Hall of Fame. Installed in 2013, the AWC Hall of Fame currently has 16 honorees, including 2019 inductees Dr. Don Schoening, Dan Beaver, and Arnold Trujillo.
AWC is looking for nominees from Yuma and La Paz counties who have made a significant contribution to the mission of the college, or distinguished themselves in service to the larger world.
Associate Dean for La Paz County to hold Tea Time with students
January 15, 2020Parker, AZ (January 15, 2020) – Arizona Western College Associate Dean for La Paz County Katheline Ocampo is offering up some upcoming opportunities for students to meet and talk with her about their academic journey over tea and lunch.
Tea Time with the Associate Dean will be held in room 112 at the AWC Parker Learning Center from 12 to 1 p.m. on Jan. 28, Feb. 18, March 24, and April 28. Ocampo will be providing lunch and tea for up to five students per time slot, allowing them an open space to talk with her about their education.
AWC offering full tuition reimbursement through La Paz Promise

Parker, AZ (September 3, 2019) – Arizona Western College has made a big commitment to the residents of La Paz County.
Starting with the class of 2019, high school graduates who enroll at AWC as full-time students and complete their associate degree within five consecutive semesters can be reimbursed for the entire cost of tuition and program fees as part of the new La Paz Promise.
AWC alumni receives Fiduciary of the Year award
May 30, 2019Parker, AZ (May 30, 2019) – La Paz County Public Fiduciary Vivian Hartless was named 2019 Fiduciary of the Year by the Arizona Fiduciaries Association.
Hartless said she is honored to receive this award and to be recognized by her peers. The Arizona Fiduciaries Association has over 200 members, including both public and private fiduciaries.
AWC to offer education scholarship in La Paz County

Parker, AZ (February 7, 2019) – La Paz County students interested in a career in Early or Secondary Education now have a new scholarship opportunity to apply for.
Arizona Western College is offering a scholarship for the EDU 110 – Intro to Education course, tuition, and books for up to 20 individuals who are interested in entering or exploring the education field. The course provides students with hands-on experience and observation time in classrooms in collaborating school districts.
