As part of National Transfer Student Week, Arizona Western College will host a Healthcare Job Fair on October 23. Students, alumni, and the general public are invited to explore education and employment opportunities in the healthcare field.
From October 21-25, Arizona Western College will be hosting events in celebration of National Transfer Student Week. Students will explore transfer options, speak with representatives from Arizona’s state universities, gain skills in financial literacy, and connect with employers from the Yuma community.
Professor Amber Ortega has been elected to serve as a Nominating Committee Member for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Competitive elections are held yearly, with only one committee member chosen from applicants nationwide.
On Monday, October 21, Arizona Western College will kick off National Transfer Student Week with the Yuma Transfer and Career Expo, an event dedicated to empowering students seeking to further their educational and career goals.
On October 9, Arizona Western College celebrated the Grand Opening of the AWC/NAU-Yuma Academic Library. The new-and-improved library provides students with access to multimedia and multidisciplinary learning spaces that support the demands of modern technology.
Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College has partnered with Yuma Truck Driving School to offer an Open Entry/Open Exit Commercial Driver’s License Certification. The 12-credit program will encompass theoretical and practical aspects of commercial driving, ensuring participants are well-prepared for the challenges of the road.
On October 16th, Arizona Western College will host a free Town Hall event at the AWC Quartzite Learning Center. La Paz County leaders will cover topics such as education, water, workforce, and public safety, and address the way these issues translate into legislative action at the State level.
Arizona Western College is pleased to welcome high school seniors from eight local schools over the coming weeks. Students are invited to learn about majors and programs, go on a guided tour, participate in a scavenger hunt, and have lunch on campus.
