Field of Interest
This program is a 7-week certification process that introduces Detention Officers to the proper and required techniques and procedures followed by Detention and Corrections professionals in the State of Arizona.
Participants will learn all the necessary requirements of correctional law, jail liabilities, inmate rights, jail procedures, less-lethal munitions, use of force, inmate classification, and physical and mental requirements needed to be certified as a detention officer in the state of Arizona.

What You'll Learn
Upon completion of the class participants will obtain an:
- Introduction to correctional operations as well as an overview of ethics and professionalism, communication, custody and control, conflict and crisis management, and medical and mental health issues.
- In addition to ethics and professionalism, problem solving, officer integrity, hostage survival, riot control measures, defensive tactics, CPR/AED for first responders, and field experience.
