Course Description
Cultural Communication
ESL-94L

This course incorporates integrated language instruction with an emphasis on aural/oral and reading skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of themes. They will then be given the opportunity to use these themes manipulatively, meaningfully, and communicatively to improve listening, speaking and reading abilities.

Reading and Writing 4
ESL-94R

This course is designed to develop reading and writing skills for intermediate to upper intermediate ESL students. Emphasis will be placed on improving students? vocabulary development, reading strategies and written organizational skills in multi-paragraph essays using appropriate grammatical structures.

Structure 4
ESL-94S

Structure 4 incorporates integrated language instruction with an emphasis on high-intermediate grammatical concepts. Students will be exposed to a variety of grammatical concepts and be given the opportunity to use these concepts manipulatively, meaningfully and communicatively.

Conversation 3, 4, & 5
ESL-95C

Conversation 3, 4, and 5 incorporates integrated language instruction with an emphasis on aural/ oral skills at the intermediate to high inter- mediate levels. Students will learn and apply a variety of techniques designed to improve aural comprehension as well as develop converstional fluency based on discussions.

Advanced Conversation

Advanced communication skills with emphasis on oral communication and pronunciation in social situations.

Everyday American Idioms and Phrasal Verbs
ESL-95E

Integrated language instruction with an emphasis on idioms, expressions specific to American English, and cultural information and statistics on life in the United States.

Pronunciation
ESL-95P

This course provides students with an opportunity to improve their comprehension and production of the sound system in North American English. Students will be exposed to a variety of concepts and techniques designed to increase competence in these areas. Special emphasis wil be placed on the areas of difficulty for speakers of languages represented in the class.

Academic Vocabulary

This course is designed to expand the academic vocabulary of users of English as a second language at the high-intermediate and advanced levels. Emphasis will be placed on the meaning and use of lexical terms in context from a variety of academic fields.

Fundamentals of Electric Technology with a focus on Electric Vehicles
EVT-100

Electrical systems and components critical to electric vehicle (EV) technology are the focus of this course. Students will learn foundational principles of electricity and circuits through both theoretical study and hands-on laboratory work.

Introduction to Electric Vehicles
EVT-101

Electric vehicles (EVs) are composed of key components such as batteries, powertrains, and charging systems, all of which are introduced in this course. Students will gain foundational knowledge through both theoretical instruction and hands-on exercises, preparing them for further studies in EV technology.

EV Charging Stations and Power Electronics
EVT-102

EV charging stations and electrical systems supporting them are the focus of this course. Students will engage in hands-on labs to learn about the installation, safety, and troubleshooting of AC and DC charging systems.

EV Motors, Maintenance and Repairs
EVT-150

Electric vehicle motors and powertrains are explored in-depth in this course, with emphasis on maintenance and repair. Students will gain practical experience diagnosing and troubleshooting both DC and AC motor systems used in EVs.

Concepts of Kinesiology and Physical Education

A general overview of the disciplines and professions associated with the field of kinesiology and physical education. The basic history, philosophy and theory of each discipline will be covered.. Relevant career potential will also be examined.

Nutrition for Exercise and Sports
EXW-150

This course covers the basic principles of nutrition and the interactions between nutrition and fitness training. Topics include dietary practices and nutrient intake modifications that affect physical performance, including intake of energy nutrients, vitamins, water, electrolytes, and dietary supplements. It also covers the study of body weight and body composition, as well as factors that affect body weight and the effect of the body composition on physical performance.

Essentials of Personal Fitness Training

Exercise Science Principles
