Staff to get “taste” of Strategic Planning progress


Yuma, AZ (October 17, 2019) – Arizona Western College faculty and staff will have an opportunity to explore the nine Strategic Planning objectives at the heart of an Amazing Student Experience, while also enjoying a delicious treat along the way.

The Taste of the Future event will be held for the campus community on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 3 to 4:15 p.m., in the South Wing of the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.

Dr. Don Schoening, Dan Beaver, and Arnold Trujillo to be honored as 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees

Yuma, AZ (October 16, 2019) –  Arizona Western College is inviting alumni and community partners to the annual AWC Alumni Breakfast and Hall of Fame Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 8 to 10 a.m. in the North Wing of the Schoening Conference Center, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. AWC’s 2019 Hall of Fame Inductees Dr. Don Schoening, Dan Beaver, and Arnold Trujillo will be honored at the breakfast.

Cesar Chavez’s grandson to present “Hailing Cesar” documentary at AWC


Yuma, AZ (October 14, 2019) – Eduardo Chavez, the grandson of civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, will be visiting Arizona Western College for a screening of his documentary, “Hailing Cesar.” He will also be speaking to attendees about the film.

The screening and presentation will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave 8E. Students and the general public are invited to attend.

AWC staff seek professional development on Strategic Planning work


Summer work set to impact 19 strategic objectives

Yuma, AZ (October 9, 2019) – To help bring the Arizona Western College Strategic Plan 2025 to fruition, several cross-functional teams made up of faculty and staff attended training in Yuma and around the region in the past few months.

AWC Community Band Presents Fall Concert


Yuma, AZ (October 8, 2019) - The Arizona Western College Community Band will be having its Fall Concert on Monday, October 21.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m. at Mary Elizabeth Post Auditorium, 400 W. 5th St.  Two of the featured compositions are “With Pleasure” by John Philip Sousa and “A Northern Legend” by Alfred Reed. 

The concert is free and open to the public of all ages. Donations will be accepted.
