Yuma, AZ (June 29, 2022) – The Arizona Western College community is saddened by the loss of former AWC President Dr. Donald “Don” Schoening. He passed away at home on Friday, June 24, at the age of 85, surrounded by family.
Yuma, AZ (June 23, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Music Department choral students and some alumni will team up to present a short summer concert for the community to enjoy.
The performance will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3030 S. 8th Ave.
Recent graduates of the AWC Music Department will be featured during the concert as soloists.
All are welcome to attend this event; it is free and open to the public. Donations to benefit the AWC Music Department will be accepted.
Yuma, AZ (June 6, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation from Foothills Bank to be used for student scholarships.
Foothills Bank has donated $10,000 in support of AWC Foundation scholarships yearly since 2018.

Reetika Dhawan to participate in state leadership program

Yuma, AZ (May 20, 2022) – Sixteen top softball teams from around the country are converging in Yuma next week to compete in the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division I Softball Championship.
Arizona Western College and the City of Yuma will be hosting the tournament, which will be held from May 24-28, at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex, 1700 E. 8th St. The championship event will kick off on Sunday at 7 p.m. with a home run derby, where some of the best home run hitters in the nation will take aim at the skyline of the Yuma Foothills.
