New Horizons of Phoenix helps fund Veterans Art Program


Yuma, AZ (May 11, 2021) – New Horizons of Phoenix presented a $3,000 donation to the Arizona Western College Foundation on Thursday, May 6, to support the Veterans Art Project. The program offers free ceramics classes to military veterans, active-duty personnel, and their families (spouses and children 18 and older).

New Horizons President Zack Hiscock and Military Operations Manager Tim Kane were both in attendance at the check presentation event to meet with Veterans Art students and professors.

Graduates to be celebrated during La Cosecha virtual event


Yuma, AZ (May 6, 2021) – Arizona Western College students transferring to a university after graduation will be honored as part of an upcoming La Cosecha event. This year’s virtual celebration will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, via Zoom.

In addition to pursuing a transfer degree, students must have also met at least one of the following criteria to apply for the recognition:

Students can enroll during RegFest at San Luis Learning Center


Yuma, AZ (April 12, 2021) – Arizona Western College will be holding a RegFest event at the San Luis Learning Center (SLLC) on Wednesday, April 21, for prospective students interested in enrolling for the Summer or Fall 2021 semester.

Attendees will have the opportunity to start the admission process, join a quick advisement session, apply for support resources, and walk away registered for classes. Parents will also have an opportunity to go to an informational session.

AWC delays fall registration start date to April 19


Yuma, AZ (April 9, 2021) – Arizona Western College will postpone the opening of Fall Registration while staff and faculty work with academic leadership to refine the schedule, so it offers a strong mix of in-person and remote or online courses.  

Fall registration will begin on April 19, one week later than initially planned. The delay will allow for additional time to secure a variety of course modalities for students.

AWC emphasizes safety back to campus, choice in Fall 2021-2022 class schedule
