Join AWC on Oct. 31 for a Catrinas and Catrines contest


AWC, in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Yuma and the Yuma County Arts and Cultural Group, is hosting a Catrinas and Catrines contest in celebration of Día de los Muertos. The event will be held on October 31 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the 3C Breezeway.

AWC Esports to be nationally broadcasted as the NJCAAE Match of the Week


Tune in on October 24 to support the Arizona Western College Esports Tier 1 Valorant team in their match against Columbia Basin College (Kennewick, WA). The match will be livestreamed on Youtube and Twitter as the NJCAAE Match of the Week.

Women in Leadership: leadHERship to host inspiring panel discussion on October 28


On October 28, the leadHERship initiative at Arizona Western College will host a “Women in Leadership” panel discussion featuring distinguished female leaders from the community. Participants can expect to hear a range of inspiring stories, discover insights into facing and overcoming challenges, and learn from women who have forged their careers in commitment to empowering others.

The much-anticipated TEDxAWC is back for another exciting event on Friday, April 25, 2025. TEDxAWC is looking for 8-10 speakers who can bring forward fresh ideas in line with the theme of “Transform & Thrive.”

As part of National Transfer Student Week, Arizona Western College will host a Healthcare Job Fair on October 23. Students, alumni, and the general public are invited to explore education and employment opportunities in the healthcare field.

Arizona Western College celebrates National Transfer Student Week


From October 21-25, Arizona Western College will be hosting events in celebration of National Transfer Student Week. Students will explore transfer options, speak with representatives from Arizona’s state universities, gain skills in financial literacy, and connect with employers from the Yuma community.

AWC’s Amber Ortega elected as OADN Nominating Committee Member


Professor Amber Ortega has been elected to serve as a Nominating Committee Member for the Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Competitive elections are held yearly, with only one committee member chosen from applicants nationwide.
