Lou Gum, News & Operations Director for the KAWC Newsroom, will be a featured panelist in the Local News, Local Impact: Post-Election Debrief Webinar on Monday, November 18th. Moderated by NPR’s Scott Horsely, panelists will discuss the importance of local news and the effect elections have on journalism. The community is invited to attend the free webinar via Zoom.

AWC Pep Band to perform patio concert


The AWC Pep Band will present its Fall Patio Concert on Thursday, November 21 at 3:15 p.m. Stop by the 3C Building Patio outside Starbucks to enjoy the music and fall weather!

AWC hosts 200 fifth graders for I’m Going to College events


On November 1st and 7th, fifth-graders from Tierra Del Sol, Roosevelt, and Ronald Reagan will be attending AWC for I’m Going to College events. Students experience a mock new student orientation, take 25-minute college classes with AWC professors, and “graduate” with a certificate.

First Gen College Celebration Week comes to AWC Nov. 4-7


Arizona Western College will be celebrating first-generation college students with a week-long event from November 4-7. The 2024 First Gen College Celebration Week activities will take place across the San Luis, Parker, and Yuma campuses.

Join AWC on Oct. 31 for a Catrinas and Catrines contest


AWC, in collaboration with the Consulate of Mexico in Yuma and the Yuma County Arts and Cultural Group, is hosting a Catrinas and Catrines contest in celebration of Día de los Muertos. The event will be held on October 31 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the 3C Breezeway.

AWC Esports to be nationally broadcasted as the NJCAAE Match of the Week


Tune in on October 24 to support the Arizona Western College Esports Tier 1 Valorant team in their match against Columbia Basin College (Kennewick, WA). The match will be livestreamed on Youtube and Twitter as the NJCAAE Match of the Week.
