Yuma, AZ (September 26, 2019) – Several Arizona Western College faculty and staff members attended and presented at a variety of conferences over the spring and summer semesters this year. Employees were also recognized for their written published works and were honored with awards as well.

AWC to participate in Yuma Community Job & Education Fair


Yuma, AZ (September 25, 2019) – Several workforce development agencies will be hosting a Yuma Community Job & Education Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 2. Community members are invited to come out and learn about what employment opportunities and resources are available locally.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Dr.

Juniors and seniors invited to go Off to College


Yuma, AZ (September 24, 2019) – Arizona Western College is holding an Off to College event for upperclassmen in Talent Search and Upward Bound programs on Wednesday, Sept. 25.

From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., juniors and seniors will be preparing for college by learning about financial aid and how to find scholarships. The event will take place in the Schoening Conference Center at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave 8E.

Students and donors to be recognized during Celebration of Scholars


Yuma, AZ (September 17, 2019) – The Arizona Western College Foundation will hold their Celebration of Scholars event on Thursday, September 19, 2019, to honor scholarship recipients and donors.

The annual appreciation banquet is held to recognize the academic achievements of scholarship recipients and the generosity of donors who have made those opportunities possible. During the 2018-2019 academic year, the AWC Foundation granted almost $350,000 in scholarship awards and program support.

Yuma, AZ (September 16, 2019) – Class of 2020 high school students who want to complete an associate’s degree at AWC and transfer to a state university partner here in Yuma can have 100% of their out-of-pocket tuition and fees reimbursed, pending full-time enrollment and successful completion within 5 semesters.

AWC offering full tuition reimbursement through La Paz Promise


La Paz County high school graduates eligible for program upon completion of associate degree

Parker, AZ (September 3, 2019) – Arizona Western College has made a big commitment to the residents of La Paz County.

Starting with the class of 2019, high school graduates who enroll at AWC as full-time students and complete their associate degree within five consecutive semesters can be reimbursed for the entire cost of tuition and program fees as part of the new La Paz Promise.

First Class Graduates from Full-Time AWC Law Enforcement Training Academy


Four regional agencies benefit from local training

Yuma, AZ (August 31, 2019) – Ten students graduated Friday night from Arizona Western College’s first ever full-time Law Enforcement Training Academy (LETA), the result of collaborative work with multiple municipal and agency partners.

The ten graduates from the first class include Erick Astorga, Carlos Bermudez, Juan C. Correa, Aaron Gonzalez Hernandez, Taylor Hatten, Eric Hawkland, Juan Luna, Misael M. Meza, Maria D. Rosales and Ana M. Silva.
