October 25, 2021

Yuma, AZ (October 25, 2021) – The Arizona Western College Matador Volleyball team (15-6 overall, 9-2 ACCAC) will be competing for the ACCAC Conference Championship this week and is currently in the lead by one game.

The Lady Mats will take on Scottsdale first at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the House for Sophomore Night. The match will be broadcast on AWC TV and livestreamed on azwestern.edu/live.

The team will travel to Prescott next to face off against Yavapai at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, at Walraven Gymnasium in Prescott.

Each of these games has the potential to bring the Matadors one step closer to becoming conference champs.

“Our team goal this year is to consistently be successful through commitment, communication, perseverance, passion, and having a short-term memory in order to compete at the highest level,” said AWC Head Volleyball Coach Lorayne Chandler.

“The team has worked really hard not only on the court but with our mental training. Both aspects have allowed the team to bond and improve over the course of the season.”

Next week on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the Lady Mats will host the NJCAA Region I Playoff game at 7 p.m. at the House. The match will be broadcast on AWC TV and livestreamed on azwestern.edu/live. No passes will be accepted for this game. Tickets will be $5 at the door and $3 for students.
