School and Workplace Safety Public Presentation Announced

Yuma, AZ (August 9, 2017) — On Monday, September 11, Arizona Western College and U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground will partner on a public safety event. Ms. Kristina Anderson, professional speaker, director of Koshka Foundation for Safe Schools, and survivor of the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting will offer a 90-minute public presentation and take questions from the audience.

The 3:00 p.m. event will be held in the Schoening Conference Center on the Yuma campus of AWC, in the College Community Center (3C).

The goal of the event is to educate and build awareness of school and workplace safety locally and regionally for interested members of the public.

Attendees are asked to pre-register for this free event online here - https://awc_kristinaanderson_guestspeaker.eventbrite.com.

Note: This 3:00pm event follows a morning presentation by Ms. Anderson during a town hall for local K-12 educators, law enforcement and public information officers. Attendees do not need to attend both morning and afternoon sessions, as Ms. Anderson’s presentation will be virtually the same.
