AWC holding History of Parker and Parker Dam Workshop April 26

Parker, AZ (April 18, 2018) – Did you know that the fourth governor of Arizona Benjamin Moeur declared martial law and dispatched National Guard troops to the Parker Dam?

Learn about the history of Parker and Parker Dam during an upcoming workshop led by AWC Professor Peggy Locklear.

Locklear will share her research and knowledge about the history of Parker and the conflict between California and Arizona over the Parker Dam. There have been many legal battles over the Parker Dam throughout history. Workshop attendees will also learn about how the history of the Parker Dam impacts Parker today.

The event is open to the public and will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, in room 104 of the AWC Parker Community Center.
