AWC Cash in Your Pocket program distributes $7.9M to students

October 14, 2021

Yuma, AZ (October 14, 2021) – Arizona Western College recently initiated the distribution process to put $7.9 million directly into the hands of 7,357 students through its Cash in Your Pocket program.

AWC was the recipient of several federal stimulus programs over the summer, which allowed the college to divert those funds to students beginning Oct. 7. Since starting the Cash in Your Pocket promotion, AWC has seen enrollment for Fall 2021 grow steadily, surpassing Fall 2019 and 2020 enrollment numbers.

"AWC continues to back up our mission statement of transforming lives through education and partnerships to create thriving communities. This program is another example of the dedication of the college leadership to fulfill our mission and help students achieve success,” said Ross Poppenberger, AWC Vice President for Finance & Administrative Services.

Students registered for classes at AWC can receive money directly and automatically through the Cash in Your Pocket initiative. Enrollment for the Spring 2022 semester begins on Nov. 8. Visit awestern.edu/enrollment/admissions for more information about how to register for classes.
