The Course Evaluation Checklist was provided by Instructure as a guide for best practices in building universal design principles into your Canvas courses. This checklist forms a basis for the recommended training sessions and options for learning these features, as described below and mentioned in the checklist.

Training

If you have not attended any of the AWC led sessions and/or subscription training provided by Instructure and are not sure where to start, please take Higher Education: First Day Ready and/or Growing with Canvas courses as an introduction to working with Canvas. After you have logged into Canvas, you can find the subscription training by choosing Subscriptions from the Canvas menu.

Instructure (Canvas) Subscription courses and Webinars

Instructure (Canvas) provides a very dynamic set of courses and webinars in their subscription services. So far, 104 Faculty have logged into the Instructure training site. The sessions identified in this document align with at a minimum the foundational/essential and best practice criteria in the course checklist mentioned above. Once you login to Canvas and go into the training services portal, the schedule of webinars is accessible by clicking on the training calendar.

External Apps (LTI Tools) - How to Add an LTI

Some LTI’s, like Zoom, Cengage, Macmillian Learning, etc., are not initially available on the Menu Bar. To add or remove the availability of these LTI’s in your course, view this document.
