Foothills Bank donates $10K in support of AWC Foundation scholarships


Yuma, AZ (June 6, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Foundation recently received a $10,000 donation from Foothills Bank to be used for student scholarships.

Foothills Bank has donated $10,000 in support of AWC Foundation scholarships yearly since 2018.

"Contributions like these are essential to the success of our mission to make education universally accessible by removing economic barriers. We are grateful to Foothills Bank for their support,” said Gladys Anaya, AWC Foundation Development Manager.

Arizona Western College Releases Truth in Taxation Information


Yuma, AZ (June 2, 2022) – Yuma/La Paz Counties Community College District, Arizona Western College (AWC), has released its Truth in Taxation information for the fiscal year 2022-2023 budget, in compliance with Arizona Revised Statue 15-1461.01.

Reetika Dhawan to participate in state leadership program

NJCAA Division I Softball Championship bracket announced


Yuma, AZ (May 20, 2022) – Sixteen top softball teams from around the country are converging in Yuma next week to compete in the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division I Softball Championship.

Arizona Western College and the City of Yuma will be hosting the tournament, which will be held from May 24-28, at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex, 1700 E. 8th St. The championship event will kick off on Sunday at 7 p.m. with a home run derby, where some of the best home run hitters in the nation will take aim at the skyline of the Yuma Foothills.

Yuma, AZ (May 16, 2022) – Almost 40 years ago as an undergraduate student in Ohio, Deltrina Grimes received letters of encouragement and congratulations for being on the honor roll from a local chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

High school students to be recognized for attaining associate degrees


Yuma, AZ (May 13, 2022) – In addition to their high school diplomas, approximately 47 high school students will also be earning associate degrees tonight at Arizona Western College.

The group will be celebrated during AWC’s 2022 Commencement with a stole featuring their high school logo and AWC logo, and their families will also have reserved seating at the ceremony.

NJCAA Division I Softball Championship to be held in Yuma


Yuma, AZ (May 12, 2022) – Arizona Western College is hosting the 2022 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division I Softball Championship from May 24-28.

Sixteen of the best college teams in the country will be traveling to Yuma to participate in the tournament, held at the Pacific Avenue Athletic Complex, 1700 E. 8th St. The championship festivities will kick off with a home run derby at 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, with games beginning at noon on Tuesday, May 24.
