Learn how to support your friends, family and neighbors.  

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental and substance use challenges among adults.  

You’ll build the skills and confidence you need to reach out and provide initial support to those who are struggling. You’ll also learn how to help connect them to appropriate support.  

AFTER THE COURSE, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO:  

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.  

  • Recognize common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges.  

  • Understand how to interact with a person in crisis.  

  • Know how to connect a person with help.  

  • Use self-care tools and techniques.  

*By completing/passing this course, you will attain the Adult MHFA – 2nd Edition certificate of completion (7.5 hrs. eligible Continuing Education Credits).

Admissions and Additional Details

Must request seat through QR code provided in training announcement flyer.  Upon confirmation of your seat in this training, you will receive an invitation with instructions to create an account through Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Connect in which you will complete a pre-evaluation and a 15 question quiz to be completed prior to the course start date, June 22, 2023.
