Southwest Gas Donates over $5K in Equipment to AWC

July 6, 2017

Yuma, AZ (July 5, 2017)—On July 5th, Southwest Gas Corporation presented a donation of equipment to the Arizona Western College Agricultural Land Lab and the Ernest Lopez Welding Institute.  The AWC Agricultural Land Lab received a Honda 2000 Generator and Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor.  The Ernest Lopez Welding Institute was presented with a Miller 2005 Engine Drive Welder.  These have all been serviced and are ready to be used by AWC students.  The total estimated value of all of this equipment is $5,156.

Rick Rohrick, Southwest Gas District Manager, was in attendance to make the presentation to AWC along with his senior level staff and company welders. Southwest Gas Corporation has donated used fleet vehicles in the past, so this is a first time equipment donation from their corporation based out of Nevada.

Renee Smith, Director of Institutional Advancement for the AWC Foundation says, “When our community partners have a surplus and they immediately reach out to Arizona Western College, we know that we are united in our mission to produce a work ready, skilled labor force. Donations like these support our instructional needs and we are very grateful to Rick Rohrick and Southwest Gas Corporation.”
