July 14 News Conference: Arizona Community Colleges Provide Skilled Workers

Yuma, Arizona (July 13, 2020) - On Tuesday, July 14, Arizona’s ten community college CEOs will host a video news conference to showcase the innovative ways that community colleges are working with their communities and business partners to train and retrain workers to help jumpstart the state’s economy during and after COVID-19. Also speaking will be Ms. Kolu Wilson, Workforce Administrator for the Arizona Commerce Authority/Office of Economic Opportunity.

Examples to be discussed include Google’s IT Support Certificate, a new industry-driven competency training being launched by seven (7) partner Arizona Community College districts, in partnership with Jobs for the Future. Upon completion, participants will receive a recognized industry credential that will support employment in Information Technology.
