Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements. Project managers ensure projects within an organization are managed and completed with maximum value and benefits realized.

Type
Students who successfully complete the course requirements will earn a Google Project Management Certification, as well as college credit from Arizona Western College.

  • Foundations of Project Management: Define project management and describe what constitutes a project.
  • Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project: Understand the significance of the project initiation phase of the project life cycle.
  • Project Planning: Putting it all Together: Describe the components of the project planning phase and their significance.
  • Project Execution: Running the Project: Identify what aspects of a project to track and compare different tracking methods.
  • Agile Project Management: Explain the Agile project management approach and philosophy, including values and principles.
  • Capstone: Applying Project Management in the Real World: Analyze project documents to identify project requirements and evaluate stakeholders.

Registration Process: Because students earn college credit from Arizona Western College, application and admission to AWC is required.   Interested students will meet with an AZ Quest Grant Coordinator to determine eligibility for the program.
