Spanish electrician program renews in Wellton
August 4, 2026Wellton, Ariz. (August 4, 2026) – Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College is offering an electrician certification program entirely in Spanish at the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. The Fundamentos de Electricidad program will teach basic electrical wiring skills and allow to graduate with an occupational certificate in two semesters.
“Learn the fundamentals of electricity through theoretical and practical instruction,” said Miguel Rios, Interim Director of Manufacturing. “The program is for those wishing to start a career in electricity or strengthen their technical skills.”
The fall course, ECT-106, is a 3-credit course covering electrical safety, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), multimeter measurements, series and parallel circuits, alternating and direct current, RLC components, transformers, and single-phase and three-phase motors.
Classes will run every Monday night from August 17 to December 4 at the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. A second course will follow in the spring for students aiming to complete their occupational certificate. No prior knowledge or coursework is required.

Programa de electricista en español regresa a Wellton
Wellton, Ariz. (4 de agosto de 2026) – Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College ofrecerá un programa de certificación en electricidad completamente en español en el Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. El programa Fundamentos de Electricidad enseñará las habilidades básicas del cableado eléctrico y permitirá a los estudiantes obtener un certificado ocupacional al completar dos semestres.
“Aprende los fundamentos de la electricidad mediante instrucción teórica y práctica," comentó Miguel Ríos, Director Interino de Manufactura. "Este programa está dirigido a quienes desean iniciar una carrera en el campo de la electricidad o fortalecer sus habilidades técnicas."
El curso de otoño, ECT-106, otorga tres créditos y abarca temas como seguridad eléctrica, uso del equipo de protección personal (EPP), mediciones con multímetro, circuitos en serie y en paralelo, corriente alterna y corriente directa, componentes RLC, transformadores y motores monofásicos y trifásicos.
Las clases se impartirán todos los lunes por la noche del 17 de agosto al 4 de diciembre en el Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. En la primavera se ofrecerá un segundo curso para los estudiantes que deseen completar su certificado ocupacional. No se requiere experiencia previa ni haber tomado cursos relacionados.
