February 12, 2026Yuma, Ariz. (February 12, 2025) – On Thursday, February 19th, the community is invited to “Pre-Symposium Day at AWC,” an annual art exhibition offering free previews of presentations from the Yuma Art Symposium.
Over the course of the day, four presenters from the Yuma Art Symposium will present and discuss their work:
• Natalie Conway (Paint) – 9:00-10:15 a.m.
• Bethany L. Wood (Metals, printmaking) – 10:30-11:45 a.m.
• Colleen Mullins (Mixed media) – 12:30-1:45 p.m.
• Susan Beiner (Ceramics) – 2:00-3:15 p.m.
The event will be held in the AWC Art Gallery, which is currently showcasing the “Edges and Overlaps” exhibit from February 16 to March 11. The exhibit features work from ceramic artists at South Texas College and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
“We are very pleased to be hosting both events in the AWC Gallery,” shared Professor Rebecca Shelby. “A couple of the artists in the ‘Edges’ exhibit will also be attending the Yuma Art Symposium and will be at the reception on Feb. 19 from 11:45-12:30. This is a great opportunity for students and the public to meet the artists and ask questions about the art and processes the artists use. It is an ‘open mind and absorb all you can’ kind of day.”
The Art Gallery is located in Room 110 of the AB Building of the Yuma Campus. A campus map can be found here.
