TEDxAWC Executive Board prepares for April conference


The community is invited to attend the 2025 TEDxAWC conference on April 25th, a special event inspiring curiosity and connection. In preparation of the event, ten AWC staff members are dedicating their time on the TEDxAWC Executive Board to bring their shared vision to life.

Arizona Western College breaks ground on Future48 Workforce Accelerator


This morning, Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College broke ground on the Future48 Workforce Accelerator in Wellton, Ariz. Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs joined Arizona Western College President Dr. Daniel Corr and AWC leadership, the Arizona Commerce Authority, local government, academic leaders, and Accelerator construction partners to celebrate the groundbreaking.

AWC Welding partners with local family to create custom bicycles


The AWC Welding program recently helped a local family build their second custom adaptive bicycle, built to transport a wheelchair user with medical equipment. This partnership exemplifies the institution’s commitment to serve the Yuma community and its families while offering students rich educational opportunities grounded in real-world scenarios.

AWC Foundation allots funding for Anatomage Table


AWC students now have access to an Anatomage Table as part of their lab experience, thanks to a generous $86,000 contribution from the Arizona Western College Foundation. The high-tech medical simulation tool will benefit students across multiple disciplines including Nursing, Emergency Medical Services, and other science and healthcare programs.

Broaden your horizons at Yuma Transfer and Career Expo


The Yuma Transfer and Career Expo will focus on providing students, alumni of Arizona Western College, and partner university students with transfer and career information as well as full and part-time employment, volunteer, and internship opportunities.

AWC transfer conference presented in collaboration with university partners and Earn to Learn


On March 3-6, Arizona Western College is hosting the Desert Southwest Transfer Conference in collaboration with Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and Earn to Learn. The highlight of the week is the Yuma Career and Transfer Expo, connecting attendees with representatives from ten universities and over thirty of Yuma’s employers, agencies, and organizations.

AWC students and leadership advocate at State Capitol


Last week, representatives from Arizona Western College leadership and student body visited the State Capitol to meet with the Arizona legislators that serve Yuma and La Paz counties. Topics of discussion were AWC programs and the upcoming 2026 budget.

Adult Education courses offered in Yuma and La Paz


Enrollment for Arizona Western College’s Adult Education Program is now open. Residents of Yuma and La Paz counties can improve their English language skills through ESOL classes or pursue a High School Equivalency diploma with the GED Preparation course. Interested parties are encouraged to begin the application process today!
