Celebration of Scholars to recognize students and donors


Yuma, AZ (September 16, 2021) – The Arizona Western College Foundation will hold its Celebration of Scholars event on Thursday, September 30, to honor scholarship recipients and donors.

The annual appreciation banquet is held to recognize the academic achievements of scholarship recipients and the generosity of donors who have made those opportunities possible. During the 2020-2021 academic year, the AWC Foundation granted over $276,000 in scholarship awards and program support. For 2021-2022, the Foundation has awarded over $165,000 in scholarships alone.

Mexican Consulate awards $9K for IME Becas program


AWC Foundation seeks to match funds, generate $18K for scholarships

Yuma, AZ (August 18, 2021) – The Consulate of Mexico in Yuma awarded the AWC Foundation with $9,000 for the IME Becas program during a check presentation event on July 22. The AWC Foundation is seeking to match the grant through fundraising efforts to offer 18 one-thousand-dollar scholarships for students. Currently, the AWC Foundation is halfway to its goal after receiving $4,500 in donations.

AWC requires masks for close, indoor public spaces


Yuma, AZ (August 13, 2021) – Effective the first day of classes for the Fall semester on Monday, August 16, Arizona Western College will require masking inside campus facilities in situations where social distancing isn’t possible.

AWC After Hours to expand access to student services


Event to also feature club booths, coffee, games, and music  

Yuma, AZ (August 12, 2021) – In an effort to make college services and resources accessible to all, Arizona Western College is staying open late on Tuesday, August 17, and Wednesday, August 18.

The AWC After Hours event will be held at the Yuma Campus from 6 to 8 p.m. on both nights to help meet the needs of students who may not be able to visit the college during regular business hours.
