AWC to celebrate La Paz County graduates


Parker, AZ (April 28, 2022) – Arizona Western College will be celebrating the achievements of La Paz County degree and certificate recipients on Thursday, May 5.

Graduates will be honored with a certificate of recognition for their accomplishments during the La Paz County Celebration of Leaders in Education event. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the Parker Community Center, 1109 Geronimo Ave.

Realignment, new focus for AWC Foundation

Jazz Ensemble to present two upcoming concerts


AWC and Cibola High School students to put on joint performance

Yuma, AZ (April 21, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Jazz Ensemble will perform two back-to-back concerts on May 3-4.

The AWC Jazz Ensemble will present a concert at the AWC Theater, 2020 S. Ave. 8E, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3. The “Jazz Victuals” concert will have a food theme, a popular subject matter lobbied for by students in the band.

AWC Community Band to hold second spring concert


Guest artist Rama Kumaran to be featured, host public clinic

Yuma, AZ (April 21, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Community Band will present its second concert of the spring semester on Monday, May 2.

The “Aeolian Tones” concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Schoening Conference Center in the 3C Building at the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. Internationally-respected flutist Rama Kumaran will be the guest artist for the performance.

Associate Dean of Communications & Marketing completes national leadership institute


Yuma, AZ (April 21, 2022) – Arizona Western College’s Associate Dean of Communications & Marketing Mandy Heil recently graduated from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) Leadership Institute.

Heil was one of 14 communication professionals from various community colleges across the country to participate in the 10-month program.

Matador Esports Team qualifies for NJCAAE Playoffs


Yuma, AZ (April 19, 2022) – After earning wins across the board during the regular season, the Matador Esports Team has qualified to compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) Playoffs this week.

The team’s three Smash Bros. players – Josh Montejano, Erick Valdez, and Nicholas Files – are moving on to the next level of the competition. This is the first time Matador Esports has officially competed in the NJCAAE league.

Graduates to be honored at La Cosecha


Yuma, AZ (April 18, 2022) – Arizona Western College students transferring to a university after graduation will be celebrated as part of an upcoming La Cosecha event.

This year’s celebration will take place on Tuesday, May 10, in the Schoening Conference Center, located in the 3C Building of the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. Registration begins at 5:45 p.m. and the dinner and program will begin at 6 p.m.

Enrollment Roundup Event to help students transition into college


Yuma, AZ (April 14, 2022) – Arizona Western College will be welcoming prospective students to the Yuma Campus as part of an upcoming Enrollment Roundup event on Monday, April 25.

Students can stop by the 3C Building at the Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E, from 3 to 6 p.m. to meet with admissions representatives, join a discover orientation session, apply for support programs, and register for Summer or Fall 2022 semesters.
