Parker Campus to present Open Mic Night opportunity


Parker, AZ (March 11, 2020) – Students and artists from the community are invited to come express their creativity during an upcoming Open Mic Night at the Arizona Western College Parker Learning Center, 1109 Geronimo Avenue.

The artist showcase will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. The American Literature Class at the AWC Parker Campus is sponsoring the event.

Community health testing to be offered at Parker Learning Center


Parker, AZ (March 11, 2020) – Health and wellness screenings will be available to the community from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 16, at the Parker Learning Center, 1109 S. Geronimo Ave.

The Community AIDS Network (CAN) will be offering community health testing including blood pressure readings, glucose screenings, and HIV testing.

The event is free and open to the public.

AWC to host Veteran Network Ally Training


Yuma, AZ (March 5, 2020) – Arizona Western College’s Department of Diversity, Inclusion, and AccessABILITY is hosting an upcoming Veteran Network Ally Training for the campus and community to attend.

The training will be held on Thursday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the East Meeting Room located in the 3C Building of the Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.

Music Department to present St. Patrick’s Day concert


Yuma, AZ (February 27, 2020) – The Arizona Western College String Ensemble and Chamber Choir will be performing a St. Patrick’s Day concert to celebrate the rich heritage of Celtic music.

The concert will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 5 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Ave. The performance will feature a variety of musical styles ranging from fast paced fiddling to beautiful slow airs.

The community is invited to attend this free event. Donations will be accepted to benefit AWC Music Department student scholarships.
