AWC Marketing & Communications honored with multiple NCMPR accolades


The Arizona Western College Marketing & Communications team returned from the NCMPR District 6 Conference earlier this month with multiple accolades for outstanding achievements in marketing and public relations. In addition to the team’s 11 Medallion Awards, Director of Content Strategy and Development Sarah Herman was honored as the Communicator of the Year, and Entrepreneurial College Director of Marketing Travis Mitchell was named Rising Star.

Join AWCTheatre on November 22 & 23 for 310inYuma event 


The community is invited to join the AWCTheatre Club on November 22nd and 23rd for a unique event titled 310inYuma. The theater event features five 10-minute plays that were written and directed by AWC students in under three weeks.

AWC Manufacturing Accelerator facility set to begin construction in Dec. 2024


Arizona Western College has completed designs on a 5,600-square-foot Manufacturing Accelerator facility that will be an extension of the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center. The $3.6M project, funded through the Future48 Workforce Accelerator Program, will equip the branch campus to offer training in electrical technology, advanced manufacturing, broadband fiber optics, and solar installation.

New college mascot unveiled on November 12th


After three years of work including surveys, focus groups, and design drafts, Arizona Western College proudly unveiled our new mascot at the Meet the Matador event on November 12th. Designed by AWC Graphic Designer Gabriela Reyna, the new Matador is a blend of tradition and school pride.

Arizona Western College opens the doors to DeAnza Residence Hall


AWC recently celebrated the Grand Opening of the new DeAnza Residence Hall, which features a grill deck, theater room, rooftop terrace, and more. Designed to foster a sense of belonging, the completed building truly is a joint effort intended to meet the diverse needs of the AWC community.

Adult Education Program now taking applications for January 2025


AWC is pleased to offer free Adult Education courses districtwide in San Luis, Parker, Quartzsite, and Yuma. Students can work towards a High School Equivalency Diploma, take English courses for Speakers of Other Languages, and even participate in the dual-pathway Integrated Education Training program.
