Quick Refrigeration establishes endowment for HVAC programs
December 3, 2025Yuma, Ariz. (December 3, 2025) – On December 5, Arizona Western College Foundation will receive a generous contribution from Quick Refrigeration to establish the Ricardo “Ric” Daniel Memorial HVAC Scholarship. The endowment will honor the life and legacy of Quick Refrigeration’s longtime General Manager, Ricardo Daniel, who served the company for more than 35 years before his passing from pancreatic cancer.
“This has been a dream of ours for some time—to establish an HVAC scholarship in Ricardo Daniel’s name,” said Jimmy Gilmore, owner of Quick Refrigeration. “Our company has always had an excellent relationship with the AWC HVAC program. In fact, we are proud to host some of their classes in our sheet metal shop. I have always been a strong supporter of AWC’s career and technical programs. We are optimistic that our contribution to this scholarship fund will help those interested in pursuing an HVAC career cover the cost of their education.”
AWC currently offers one degree and two certifications in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) education. By supporting these programs and their students, this fund will significantly impact AWC’s efforts to meet the state’s need for a qualified workforce.
“We are grateful to Quick Refrigeration for honoring Ric Daniel’s legacy,” said Cinthia Reyes, AWC Executive Director and Dean of Career & Technical Education. “Ric’s passion for teaching and continuous growth reflects our mission to transform lives through education, and this scholarship will help future HVAC students strengthen our community.”
The check will be presented on Friday, December 5 at 7:00 p.m. during Quick Refrigeration’s Christmas & 70th Anniversary Celebration at the Quechan Casino Resort.
The media is invited to attend this event.
