Drawing students showcase artwork at San Luis gallery event
April 28, 2026San Luis, Ariz. (April 28, 2026) – Arizona Western College students in Drawing I, II, and III at the San Luis Learning Center will host a special gallery event on April 29 featuring artwork created this term.
“We would love to invite the community to attend and experience the artistic talent present in San Luis, Arizona, and Yuma,” said drawing professor Violeta Isaacs.
The art gallery will showcase a variety of projects, including artwork inspired by Gustav Klimt, Old Master studies, and even a piece honoring Dr. Daniel Corr’s 10 years as AWC President.
Several murals will also be on display, representing a summative course project that challenged students to incorporate multiple elements from assignments throughout the semester and demonstrate mastery in their own unique style.
“My plan was to design the murals as a direct reflection of the course objectives,” Isaacs shared. “These artistic pieces serve not only as creative expressions but also as visual evidence of student understanding and the fulfillment of the course.”
The free event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29 at the San Luis Learning Center.
