AWC Foundation encourages year-end giving
December 2, 2025Yuma, Ariz. (December 2, 2025) – This holiday season, the Arizona Western College Foundation is inviting the community to give the gift of education during the Foundation’s Giving Tuesday campaign. Any gift, large or small, is deeply appreciated and has the power to make a lasting impact on the life of a student in our community.
Last year, community support enabled the Foundation to provide $6,000 in emergency scholarships, also known as Gold Heart funds, to students facing urgent challenges that would prevent them from completing their classes. This year, the Foundation is aiming to raise $10,000 to ensure that AWC students never have to choose between their education and basic needs.
“As a non-traditional and first-generation student, balancing family life and school has been challenging,” reflected scholarship recipient Randy Bailey. “This scholarship has lightened the financial burden on my family and has allowed me to stay on track with my educational goals. This award represents belief in my potential and support for my future.”
Giving is simple: follow this link to pay online or send a check payable to the AWC Foundation to 2020 S Ave 8 E, Yuma, AZ 85365.
Here’s how your gift can help:
• $50 provides 5 meals at the Eatery on campus
• $75 can pay tuition for a high school student to take a college class
• $100 covers the cost of rent for a loaner laptop and calculator
• $250 provides a student with the tools they need to succeed, like textbooks, course supplies or housing assistance
Any donations made prior to December 31st, 2025, can be claimed as a tax deduction in the new year.
