Fully-Spanish Electrician program to begin in Wellton 


Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College is now offering an Electrician certification program entirely in Spanish. Starting this fall at the Wellton Manufacturing Training Center, the program will cover basic electrical wiring skills and allow students to graduate with an occupational certificate in two semesters.

High school students encouraged to take college courses this fall


High schoolers from Yuma and La Paz Counties are encouraged to enroll in Dual Credit courses with Arizona Western College. Through AWC’s Early College Program, students can earn college credit at a significantly reduced tuition rate, helping close the achievement gap and lower future college debt.

KAWC seeks music lovers to volunteer on air


KAWC is seeking volunteer hosts for music programs on KOFA Border Radio. Music lovers from the community, including AWC students, faculty and staff, are invited to participate. The radio station celebrated 55 years of broadcasting this month.

AWC sculptures featured in exhibit at South Texas College


Totem sculptures crafted by art students at Arizona Western College are currently being featured in an invitation-only art exhibit at South Texas College (STC). In addition to looking for a permanent home for the installation after the exhibit, the AWC Art Department is also raising funds to return the pieces to Yuma.

Gadsden Superintendent Esparza shapes future educators at the SLLC


Gadsden Elementary School District Superintendent Lizette Esparza recently completed her first year teaching the Cultural Diversity in Education course at the Arizona Western College San Luis Learning Center (SLLC). Future Matadors Career Exploration Camp empowers first-generation students


Last month, Arizona Western College hosted the inaugural Future Matadors Career Exploration Camp for high school students in Yuma and Parker. The week-long summer camp aimed at inspiring first-generation and underrepresented high school students to pursue higher education and future careers.

Approved institutional budget will not increase property tax levy 


This week, the Arizona Western College District Governing Board approved the institutional budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The new budget prioritizes student success and access to education through investments in scholarships and the growth of initiatives like the Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College and Early College programs, all without increasing the property tax levy.

New Marketing program to launch this Fall


This Fall, Arizona Western College is launching a new degree path for students interested in pursuing careers in marketing, sales, digital marketing, or public relations. With AWC’s new Associate of Applied Science in Marketing, students will be ready to confidently enter the dynamic field of marketing in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Men's Soccer's Dale to receive NJCAA Coaches Legacy Award


Arizona Western College Men's Soccer head coach Kenny Dale will receive an NJCAA Coaches Legacy Award next week, recognizing his exceptional leadership in both the men's and women's programs.
