Arizona Western College is pleased to welcome Scott Gross as the new Sports Information Director for the Athletics Department. In his new role, the former KYMA-TV News Anchor and Sports Director will spearhead the promotion of Matador Athletics.
CTE programs to benefit from AZ Department of Education innovation program grant
Arizona Western College has received a $250,000 grant from the AZ Department of Education innovation program fund to support Career and Technical Education programs. AWC receives early invitation to Google AI Innovation Network
Arizona Western College has been selected to join the Google AI Innovation Network, a three-year initiative that aims to support college students across the country with advanced AI tools and training. AWC was the first college in the state, and one of a select few nationwide, to receive an early invitation to the program.
Electric vehicle training now offered at Arizona Western College
In an effort to meet the needs of growing industry demands, Arizona Western Entrepreneurial College is offering a new course that prepares students for Level 1 and 2 certifications in electric vehicle (EV) service and safety. The 8-week course is set to begin this October.
Hall of Fame inductees to be celebrated at Schoolhouse Soirée
On October 3, the community is invited to join the Arizona Western College Foundation at the fourth-annual Schoolhouse Soirée. The annual fundraising event will honor the 2025 AWC Hall of Fame inductees Maria Chavoya and Moses Camarena for their significant contribution to AWC and the Yuma and La Paz communities. Tickets are on sale now, and sponsorship opportunities are available.
The Cubby hosts Back to School Food Drive
Arizona Western College invites the community to participate in a Back to School Food Drive from August 11 to September 8. AWC’s free food pantry, The Cubby, aims to raise 1,000 non-perishable food items to support students in Yuma and La Paz counties this semester.
