Rad Tech Director Victoria Holas & Student Cynthia LaMothe Selected to Attend National Rad Tech Conference in Orlando

Yuma, AZ (June 6, 2017)-Victoria Holas, Director of Radiologic Technology Program at Arizona Western College, was selected to represent Arizona as a delegate to attend the 2017 American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Annual Governance and House of Delegates meeting in Orlando, Florida from June 22-25.  Also, Cynthia LaMothe, first year Radiologic Technology student, was chosen to represent Arizona at the 2017 Student Leadership Development Program in Orlando.  

Cynthia was nominated by the Arizona State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASSRT), she applied, and was selected.  The ASRT Student Leadership Development Program offers students a chance to get to know the ASRT, attend educational sessions, and network with medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals.  There were 95 students selected nationally to attend the Leadership Program.

Victoria Holas has been the Vice President, President and chairman of the Board of the ASSRT.   She is currently the webmaster and Social Media coordinator for the ASSRT.  Over the last 3 years, Victoria has been an Arizona State Chapter Delegate and a member of the Arizona State Society (ASSRT) for 9 years.  She is also a site visitor for the national accreditation agency, the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).

Victoria will also be attending the Educational Symposium which is scheduled for June 21st, the day before the Delegate Meeting. Cynthia received a scholarship from the AWC foundation to attend this Educational Conference as well. New and Emergent Technologies will be presented at this Imaging Symposium. Cynthia will choose a topic and present it to her classmates when she returns.
