AWC selects four students for All-Arizona Academic Team

Yuma, AZ (March 7, 2019) – Four high-achieving students from Arizona Western College were recently honored at the All-Arizona Academic Team Recognition Ceremony at the East Valley Institute of Technology in Mesa, Arizona.   

This annual awards ceremony is held by the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society to recognize students chosen by their colleges for high academic distinction as well as for leadership and service to the community. To qualify, each student must be working toward an associate degree and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The artists will discuss and present their mural practice, including the national Endangered Species Mural Project and work celebrating Chicano culture and history, and conclude with a dialogue with the audience.

Sonoran Pronghorn and Yuma Clapper Rail both to be featured

Yuma, AZ (January 31, 2019) – Through a local donor and a project sponsored by the Center for Biological Diversity, AWC will become a mural host site for a 76-foot by 22-foot mural featuring two endangered Sonoran Desert species, the Sonoran pronghorn and the Yuma clapper rail. This is the 20th installment in the Center’s national Endangered Species Mural Project.

Transfer & Career Expo to highlight Business, Communications, & Education

Yuma, AZ (October 29, 2018) – Arizona Western College will be holding a Transfer & Career Expo on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 3C Breezeway/Courtyard of the AWC Yuma Campus, 2020 S. Ave. 8E. The expo will specifically focus on Business, Communications, and Education opportunities for current and prospective students.
