Professor of Fine Arts selected for VMRC Juried Art Exhibition

San Luis, AZ (April 18, 2023) – Jules Floss, Arizona Western College Professor of Fine Arts, was recently chosen to have her work showcased in a national exhibition alongside artists from across the country.

The Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) hosts an annual Juried Art Exhibition to highlight talented artists and enhance the lives of VRMC residents, staff, and visitors. Floss is one of 82 artists that will be featured in the exhibition from the over 430 entries submitted by 156 artists.

San Luis, AZ (January 9, 2020) – Paintings created by Arizona Western College students during the fall semester are currently on display at the San Luis Learning Center (SLLC), 1340 N. 8th Avenue, San Luis, Ariz.

The community is invited to stop by and view the Student Painting Exhibition, which will be available until Friday, Jan. 31, at no cost to the public. Hours for the exhibit are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sonoran Pronghorn and Yuma Clapper Rail both to be featured

Yuma, AZ (January 31, 2019) – Through a local donor and a project sponsored by the Center for Biological Diversity, AWC will become a mural host site for a 76-foot by 22-foot mural featuring two endangered Sonoran Desert species, the Sonoran pronghorn and the Yuma clapper rail. This is the 20th installment in the Center’s national Endangered Species Mural Project.

Yuma, AZ (November 12, 2018) – The Arizona Western College Fine Arts Department is teaming up to present music and theater to the community during The Radio Active Variety Show.

An annual fundraiser for scholarships, this year’s event will celebrate Irving Berlin: A Century of Song, featuring vocal and band music as well as short theatrical sketches and conversations in the style of a 1930’s radio show.

The shows will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 2:30 p.m. at the AWC Theatre, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.
