One Book Yuma author Sara Vladic to visit AWC

Yuma, AZ (January 23, 2020) – Bestselling author and award-winning filmmaker Sara Vladic will be visiting Arizona Western College on Tuesday, Feb. 25, to present on a book she co-authored, “Indianapolis: The True Story of the Worst Sea Disaster in U.S. Naval History and the Fifty-Year Fight to Exonerate an Innocent Man.”

Yuma, AZ (November 13, 2019) – Arizona Western College students can stop by the campus library for help with research topics, citations, and finding resources including peer-reviewed articles as part of an upcoming Research Party.

Librarians will be available to assist students in the Instruction Room of the AWC/NAU Academic Library on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be snacks and treats provided. The event is free and open to all students.

Yuma, AZ (January 31, 2019) – Come meet One Book Yuma author Dr. Barbara Jaquay as she presents on her book, “Where Have All the Sheep Gone?” on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at Arizona Western College.

The book takes a look at sheep ranchers and shepherds and how they contributed to Arizona’s history. Jaquay is a historical geographer that has traveled the state to share this rich history.

Sevigny’s appearance is hosted by Arizona Western College and Northern Arizona University Yuma Branch Campus, and sponsored by the Friends of Yuma County Libraries, AWC Campus Life, AWC Foundation and the Yuma Sun.
