English faculty garners national recognition for book chapter

Yuma, AZ (September 7, 2023) – Arizona Western College English faculty received national recognition for co-authoring a chapter featured in a book that earned the “Best Book Award for 2022” from the Council of Writing Program Administrators. Professors awarded for their work during the council’s annual conference included:
Professor of Agriculture to present at international conference in Australia
August 31, 2023Yuma, AZ (August 31, 2023) – Dr. Hikmet Budak, Professor of Agriculture at Arizona Western College, has been invited to speak at the International Plant and Animal Genome Conference in Perth, Australia on September 20.
During the conference, Dr. Budak will lead a workshop titled, “Plant non-coding RNAs,” examining the genomes of flowering plants and how they are transcribed.

February 18, 2020AWC Honors Program hosts presentation on the historical, cultural importance of the Gila River
Yuma, AZ (February 14, 2020) – Gregory McNamee claims Arizona as his home, but he is a writer with an international reputation. And this month he’s coming to a classroom near you.
The AWC Honors Program will be hosting McNamee’s presentation, courtesy of the popular Arizona Humanities Council program AZ Speaks, titled “The Gila, River of History.” The event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in LR 104, across the hall from the Honors Center.
