Professor of Fine Arts selected for VMRC Juried Art Exhibition
April 18, 2023San Luis, AZ (April 18, 2023) – Jules Floss, Arizona Western College Professor of Fine Arts, was recently chosen to have her work showcased in a national exhibition alongside artists from across the country.
The Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community (VMRC) hosts an annual Juried Art Exhibition to highlight talented artists and enhance the lives of VRMC residents, staff, and visitors. Floss is one of 82 artists that will be featured in the exhibition from the over 430 entries submitted by 156 artists.
Music Department presents collaborative, end-of-semester Christmas Gala

Yuma, AZ (December 2, 2022) – The Arizona Western College Music Department will present its annual Christmas Gala at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11.
The joint concert will feature the AWC orchestra, band, string ensemble, choirs, and piano faculty. Audiences will be in for an enjoyable evening as students will be performing a culmination of music they’ve been working on for the Christmas Gala.

Yuma, AZ (March 22, 2021) – For the past three years, Vanessa Ramirez has been diligently working to improve as both a flutist and a singer.
Ramirez has participated as a student in the Arizona Western College Community Band, Pep Band, and Jazz Band and also takes private voice lessons and sings second soprano and alto with the AWC Chamber Singers and Yuma Chorale.
Annual Fine Arts fundraiser to feature Dickens’ A Christmas Carol
November 7, 2019Yuma, AZ (November 7, 2019) – The Arizona Western College Fine Arts Department is teaming up to present music, theater, and art to the community during The Radio Active Variety Show.
This year’s annual fundraiser for scholarships will include scenes from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and also feature vocal and band music. In addition to the show, the Art Department will be sharing through creative demonstrations, Graphic Arts will be taking photos, and a silent auction will also be held.
AWC Fine Arts to present full lineup of May concerts
April 30, 2019Yuma, AZ (April 30, 2019) – The Arizona Western College Fine Arts Department has a number of performances on the calendar for the community to enjoy during the month of May.
The AWC Jazz Ensemble will be performing a spring concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the AWC Theater, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.
AWC Pep Band is performing an open-air patio concert from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Thursday, May 2. Students will be performing on the covered patio of the 3C Building near the AWC Yuma Campus Starbucks, 2020 S. Ave. 8E.
