Open Mic event held in conjunction with Student Showcase
March 12, 2024Yuma, AZ (March 12, 2024) – Creative Writing students, with the support of the Liberal Arts Division of Arizona Western College, will host the second annual campus-wide Open Mic from 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, March 27, at the AWC Yuma Campus Academic Library. This event is the celebratory closing ceremony for the annual Student Showcase.

Students earn scholarships during annual showcase
May 13, 2019Yuma, AZ (May 13, 2019) – Eleven Arizona Western College students took home scholarship awards during an annual Student Showcase event on May 7.
Since 2008, the showcase has served as a platform to highlight a wide variety of student projects, and over time it has also become an opportunity for students to earn scholarships. Funds are made available for students to apply for thanks to a $5,000 donation from the Gowan Company, who has been providing showcase scholarships for the past five years.

Over seventy-five students participated and shared projects ranging from scientific posters, modern language presentations, business models, informational websites, dramatic readings, and mechanical projects, including a six-foot tall trebuchet!
