AWC celebrates inaugural graduation ceremony for regional Fire Academy

November 2, 2023Yuma, AZ (November 2, 2023) – A Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony was held Tuesday, Oct. 24, to commemorate the unique partnership between education partners Arizona Western College, Sonora State University, and local Arizona Board of Regent University partners from the University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University, together in a shared gathering with 4FrontED, Elevate Southwest, and community leaders.
Facilities and Agriculture departments create herb garden to be used by Culinary Arts
October 30, 2023Yuma, AZ (October 30, 2023) – Three departments at Arizona Western College have cultivated a partnership that is sure to yield some delicious results.
The Facilities department recently prepped an area with basic landscaping located outside of the Culinary Arts classroom and installed an irrigation water supply to turn the space into a fully functioning herb garden. The Agriculture program laid down topsoil and transplanted plants grown in their greenhouse so that Culinary Arts classes could harvest the herbs and incorporate them into their dishes.
Groundbreaking ceremony to be held for Law Enforcement Training Academy
September 28, 2023Yuma, AZ (September 28, 2023) – Join Arizona Western College as we officially break ground on the new Law Enforcement Training Academy. The project will centralize training for LETA cadets from across the state in a purpose-built facility housed on the AWC Yuma Campus. The over 20,000-square-foot building will be adaptable to accommodate high industry demand, increase training capabilities, and expand cadet capacity at AWC.
