Reetika Dhawan has been appointed to the inaugural Director’s Advisory Committee for the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry. Join First-Year English Composition students on March 19 as they present the Seventh Multilingual Student Expo, “Soundtrack of Languages: Music as a Multilingual Bridge." Students will sing, dance, and perform music in multiple languages, with four scholarships awarded for outstanding student participation.
A new mobile app curated by AWC students offers a virtual tour of Yuma’s history through student writing and voiceovers. The free app, “Yuma History Virtual Tour,” takes users through a detailed history of Yuma’s local landmarks and historic figures.
On March 15, the community is invited to a Festival Fundraiser hosted by the Arizona Western College Visual and Performing Arts Department. Students will present live music and theater performances in addition to selling original artwork to raise money for department scholarships.
