AWC Music Faculty in concert Feb. 2

Tickets are on sale now for the TEDxAWC conference, which will take place on April 25th at the Historic Yuma Theatre. Ten speakers have been selected to share their stories of transformation and resilience.

Arizona Complete Health provides funding for Allied Health programs


On January 21, Arizona Western College Allied Health programs will receive a $50,000 grant, thanks to a generous contribution from the Arizona Complete Health Community Reinvestment Program. By benefiting these programs and their students, this funding will significantly impact AWC’s efforts to meet the state’s need for healthcare workers.

Olivia Zepeda elected to six more years on District Governing Board


Olivia Zepeda has been re-elected to serve another six-year term on the AWC Board of Directors. Having spent roughly 40 years in the field of education, Zepeda will represent District 4, which includes South and West Yuma County, Somerton, and San Luis, AZ.

Community invited to The Honey Girl of Auschwitz on Jan. 23-24


On January 23rd, Arizona Western College invites the public to hear a powerful story of hope and resilience as Esther Basch, a 96 ½-year-old Holocaust survivor known as "The Honey Girl of Auschwitz," shares her journey of survival and triumph. Presentations on January 24th will be also available to YUHSD and YESD#1 students, hosted by Gila Ridge Performing Arts.

AWC Foundation seeks support for students during Giving Tuesday


As part of Giving Tuesday, the AWC Foundation is seeking the community’s help in giving the gift of education. Just this year, the Foundation provided over $16,000 to support students across a wide range of needs including tuition, transportation, meals, and school supplies.

leadHERship prepares for final workshop of 2024 and looks ahead to 2025 expansion


The leadHERship initiative at Arizona Western College presents the final workshop of 2024: “Self-Connectivity While Evaluating Your Beliefs and Social Stereotypes.” Additionally, the program is celebrating their future as a permanent AWC program with plans to expand after the institution approved an annual budget of $20,000.
