AWC celebrates graduates at inaugural Fall Commencement
December 9, 2025Yuma, Ariz. (December 9, 2025) – On December 12th, Arizona Western College will be hosting its first Fall Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will celebrate students from across Yuma and La Paz counties, including many graduates that will be obtaining more than one certificate or degree.
The ceremony is open to the public and will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 12, at the AWC Amphitheater on the Yuma Campus. This will be an outdoor event. The ceremony can be viewed online at 2:00 p.m. on the official AWC YouTube channel and on AWC TV at azwestern.edu/live.
Cibola High School alumnus Alyssa Virginia Hernandez has been selected as the Fall Commencement Speaker. Alyssa will be graduating with an Associate of Arts in Elementary Education and plans to transfer to Northern Arizona University to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
