Hanah, how long have you been an AWC student?
I’ve been an AWC student for the past two years, but, I’m still a senior in high school. I also used to go to all the AWC Basketball Camps when I was little.
How long have you been playing basketball?
I’ve been playing basketball since 1st grade and that’s from the AWC Basketball Camps where I learned how to shoot the ball and all the other basic skills. That’s where it all kind of began.
What other extracurriculars have you been involved in?
I’ve also done track and field all four years in high school and I went to state all four years. It’s been a lot of fun.
Why did you choose to study and play ball at AWC over other colleges and universities?
I chose AWC because it’s a great foundation for where I want to go in life. I want to play basketball here, on Coach Cunningham’s team, and I know this place is going to take me to greater places and I’m really excited for what’s ahead.
Who inspires you to pursue your dreams?
My dad inspires me to pursue my dreams. He came from a really poor family but that didn’t stop him from going to a junior college and then finishing off his degree at a university and just seeing that and knowing that you can come from that to where he is today, it just really inspires me to work hard and push for what I want.
What are you studying and what do you plan to do with that degree?
I am studying Administration of Justice. I want to go into law enforcement, I’m not sure what kind of law enforcement, but I really want to serve my country and really be out and about in my communities.
